Faulkner HR Solutions Adds Veteran-Owned Verification, BBB Accreditation and National Veteran Business Recognition
The Texas HR consulting firm strengthens third-party verification of its veteran ownership, marketplace accountability and business identity through three separate programs.
Faulkner HR Solutions, a Texas human resources consulting firm serving municipalities, nonprofits and growing employers, has added three independent business credentials: Veteran-Owned Business verification through the Texas Veterans Commission, accreditation by the Better Business Bureau, and verified veteran-business marketplace recognition through VeteranOwnedBusiness.com.
The three marks do not represent the same thing, and Faulkner HR Solutions is intentionally distinguishing them. The Texas Veterans Commission program verifies veteran ownership. BBB Accreditation evaluates a business against the Better Business Bureau's Standards for Trust. VeteranOwnedBusiness.com is a private national marketplace and directory that offers verified-member recognition for qualifying veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses.
"A badge does not make a consulting firm competent. What it can do is make it easier for a city, nonprofit board or business owner to verify who they are dealing with before they put a sensitive workforce problem in that firm's hands. Independent verification removes one more layer of ambiguity from that decision."
For Faulkner HR Solutions, the additional credentials are part of a broader effort to make the firm easier to evaluate before an engagement begins. The company routinely works with personnel records, employee complaints, investigations, policy decisions, leadership problems and other matters that require organizations to place significant trust in an outside advisor. Public agencies and nonprofit boards may also need to document vendor qualifications before approving a purchase or professional-services engagement.
The Texas Veterans Commission's Veteran Entrepreneur Program created its Veteran-Owned Business logo for businesses that meet the program's veteran-ownership requirements. TVC materials describe the logo program as available to businesses with at least 51 percent veteran ownership after verification, with approved businesses receiving the logo and supporting documentation for use in marketing and business identification.
Faulkner HR Solutions is also a BBB Accredited Business. Its current BBB Business Profile lists an A+ rating and an accreditation date of August 5, 2026. BBB Accreditation is voluntary and separate from a BBB rating; accredited businesses commit to standards addressing trust, truthful advertising, transparency, responsiveness, privacy and integrity.
The firm's VeteranOwnedBusiness.com recognition adds a third form of public verification within a national veteran-business marketplace. Veteran Owned Business has operated its directory since 2008 and offers free and enhanced listings for qualifying veteran-owned businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, active-duty military, reservists and military-spouse-owned businesses. The directory's verified-member badge is a private marketplace recognition and should not be confused with a government procurement certification.
How Other Veteran-Owned Businesses Can Pursue Similar Recognition
Faulkner HR Solutions is also publishing the application paths so other veteran entrepreneurs can determine which programs fit their businesses. Each program has a different purpose and different qualification process.
1. Texas Veterans Commission Veteran-Owned Business Verification
Texas veteran entrepreneurs can begin with the Texas Veterans Commission Veteran Entrepreneur Program. TVC's Veteran-Owned Business qualification materials identify entity and ownership documentation along with military discharge documentation as part of the review process. Applicants should use TVC's current instructions when applying because documentation requirements may change.
2. Better Business Bureau Accreditation
Businesses interested in BBB Accreditation can apply directly through BBB's accreditation application. BBB states that applicants are vetted against its Standards for Trust. General eligibility includes an established operating history, appropriate licensing, a qualifying BBB rating and compliance with BBB standards. Accredited businesses pay annual dues, and approval is not automatic.
3. VeteranOwnedBusiness.com Membership and Verified-Member Recognition
Veteran-owned businesses can review VeteranOwnedBusiness.com membership options. The marketplace offers a free basic listing as well as enhanced listing and sponsorship options. Its member badges and directory recognition are private marketplace credentials rather than federal or state procurement certifications.
Businesses seeking eligibility for government set-asides should confirm the certification required by the purchasing agency. A state veteran-owned verification, BBB Accreditation or private directory membership does not automatically substitute for federal SBA VetCert or another agency-specific certification.
Why the Distinction Matters
The language around business credentials is often used loosely. "Certified," "verified," "accredited" and "member" can sound interchangeable even when the underlying review is very different. Faulkner HR Solutions is presenting the credentials according to the organizations that issued them: TVC verification, BBB Accreditation and Veteran Owned Business verified-member recognition.
For prospective clients, that creates a clearer record of what has actually been reviewed and by whom. For other veteran entrepreneurs, it provides a practical starting point for deciding which credentials are useful for customer trust, vendor due diligence, marketplace visibility or government contracting.
